The transition from life in the Armed Forces to that of a 'civvy' is full of challenges. These challenges can be emotional, such as dealing with an addiction or practical like finding employment or somewhere to live and can take many years to overcome.
The North West of England is the largest recruitment ground for the British Armed Forces and sees the largest number of personnel returning from service and resettling. This number is currently estimated to be 6000 per year.
Now, there is a unique local pilot programme backed by the NHS that offers free personalised support to all ex-service personnel and their families.
AT-EASEDelivered through dedicated caseworkers, At-Ease helps assess needs, explore options and connect ex-service personnel and their families with organisations that can help.
The programme does not replace existing Armed Forces organisations, NHS or Probation services; rather it works to join them together to provide the very best support.
The ultimate purpose of At -Ease is to empower individuals of all ages and abilities to take control of their lives and improve their wellbeing.
